Our Story

In the midst of the pandemic, His Majesty’s vision for National Priorities inspired us to envision a digital future that revolves around the people and their needs. During the COVID-19 lockdowns, many in our society, especially the underprivileged, faced challenges accessing banking services. Cash transactions posed a high risk of contamination, making it necessary to find safer alternatives.DK was born from the desire to mitigate these risks and to ensure financial inclusivity for all, even during the toughest times. As almost 9000 Bhutanese lost their jobs, and some had no accounts to receive crucial support, we knew it was time for a change. Our mission was to empower our people with digital banking solutions that were accessible, convenient, and secure. In the face of uncertainty, DK’s core team came together, fuelled by innovation and the belief that we could serve our nation better. While the COVID-19 pandemic is now behind us, we remain committed to adapting and evolving according to the needs of our people.
